Thanks to all 31 participating households kindly submitting their results from the yard sale, we can now announce that total takings for the extremely busy afternoon were, at just over £5000.00, absolutely excellent!
Several ‘shops’ raised money for their chosen charity: £731 in total for the Disaster Emergency Committee in Ukraine;
Bikes and bike parts brought in £150 for Dementia Research;
‘Throw-a-pot’ giving everyone the opportunity to turn clay yielded £130.00 for Social Bite;
and the Brett family’s sale including cards by Daphne raised funds to enable the Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection organisation to adopt four more endangered chimps.
Colonies Cakes raised a record-breaking £265 (and had sold out by 2.30!) which should cover the costs incurred with marketing for the yard sale.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a success.
A photo album, conveying the atmosphere of the afternoon are on our Facebook page for all to enjoy.
