Spud in the Bucket 2010 Winners

Well, we managed to judge the Spud in the Bucket Competition last Sunday and remain dry for most of the time, which was a result in itself!

We had 28 buckets out this year (a record) and 24 returned for judging on the day (2 people opted to give their spuds more time to grow). More importantly, all the buckeets judged had spuds in them!

Thank you to everyone who took part and a big congratulations to:

Gill – Teviotdale Place – biggest adult spud (217g) – repeating her success from previous years
Dorothy – Teviotdale Place – biggest adult crop (1506g) – retaining her crown from last year
Isaac – Gleongle House – biggest childs spud (104g)
Dominic – Glenogle House – biggest childs crop (615g).

Thanks to all those who took part and came along ont he day, making the most of the bacon roll (bbq style!), scones and refreshments on offer. Also, a personal thank you to the children on the day for their excellent help digging up all the spuds – messy but fun! Photos, further results and details for next year will follow in the next Newsline!
