Friends of Rocheid Path

The Friends of Rocheid Path (FoRP)

FoRP is a group originally formed to support the City Council Parks Department in managing and maintaining the area beside the Water of Leith known as The RocheidPath. The area is defined as one of the city’s parks.

It is a subscription organisation which has a constitution and a committee that meets every so often throughout the year to determine what work/projects to undertake.

The Rocheid Path comprises the whole of the green area extending from the Lodge beside the Falshaw Bridge at the west end, to the bridge at Canonmills as the east end. It follows the Water of Leith from one end to the other, and most of it is part of theWater of Leith Walkway.

The Friends work in partnership with the Water of Leith Conservation Trust (WoLCT) and the Council Parks Department to manage and maintain the Path. Much of our work involves planting and pruning the vegetation, for which we often have help from local school children.
