Colonies residents, friends and members of the Colonies Choir met at the east end of the Colonies on the very cold (but dry!) evening of Sunday, 15th December to begin the annual carol-singing along every Colonies street, as volunteers collected donations at each door for this year’s chosen – and very local – charity, Edinburgh Women’s Aid https://womensaid.scot/.
The happy throng swelled to about 50 at its peak, including many children and the event was rounded off with warming mulled wine and mince pies, very kindly served by the Brett family on Bridge Place.
Thank you to everyone who participated and/or donated and the total raised was £537.50.
